Florence Day 1

We left Venice via train to Florence early Monday morning. The train ride was uneventful and we were glad to be in our 2nd city. When we arrived in Florence we attempted to be travel savvy by getting on the city bus to reach our hotel. We quickly realized that either we were on the wrong bus or the driver didn't know where our hotel was. We flagged down some cabs and got to our hotel, Hotel Arizona.

After grabbing a quick, cheap lunch we set out to explore Florence. Our first stop was at the massive church, The Duomo. It is so big that standing at the church it is hard to get even a small glimpse of the church in a single picture.

After checking out the church we did a self-guided Renaissance walk with Jae and Erica. Florence is a beautiful city and this was the best and most efficient way to see a lot of it in a short amount of time. After the renaissance walk we stopped for some gelato

A highlight of our entire trip was seeing Michelangelo's David statue. Pictures were not allowed but they would not have done it justice anyways. It was simply amazing!

After seeing David, we walked around the city more and made our way to Ponte Vecchio, which had some beautiful scenery.

After a very long and exhausting day of sightseeing we had a delicious dinner!
